29 Adventure Quotes (Without Mountains Calling)

Yes, we’ve all heard about the mountains calling and you must go. John Muir rolls in his grave each time you say it, because more than likely you are posting it to your Facebook update and then watching the likes roll in rather than posting it on Facebook and getting the heck out to the mountains. That’s not what he had in mind. Now, I’m not saying it’s not a great quote. I admire Mr. Muir profoundly. After all, the man is the father of the national parks system in the United States, which was the model for the rest of the world. But if a phrase is on repeat wherever you look, it loses its impact. Take the word “awesome” for example — how often do its users actually mean that the object is awe-inspiring? So instead, let’s give John’s words a chance to recover for a bit and look at some different quotes that will ignite a spark and kick you into gear.
