Jeff was born and raised in St. Louis, Missouri, but spent a lot of time during the summer on his grandparent’s farm in the Ozarks. This allowed him ample time to explore the nearby creeks, caves, and forests. It also gave him an introductory education in snakes, crawdads, terrapins, and other critters he could catch. Exploring and spending time in the natural world quickly became a passion.
As an adult, Jeff is an attorney and lobbyist before the Missouri legislature. Representing the state’s physicians, Jeff has a hand in almost every healthcare issue in the state. Once June arrives, you can probably find him on a trail or in a tent. Jeff enjoys lightweight backpacking, camping, and canoeing Missouri’s crystal clear streams.
Jeff doesn’t limit his adventures to Missouri. He’s hiked the Wonderland Trail around Mt. Rainier, the Haleakala volcanic crater in Hawaii, as well as portions of the Appalachian and Pacific Crest Trails. He has even backpacked and camped on top of an unrestored section of Great Wall of China.
Jeff resides in the state capital of Missouri, Jefferson City. He is married and has two children. He volunteers as a Cub Scout den leader. He is dedicated to passing along his love and respect for the outdoors to his kids.
